    I can almost rationalise it for the 90s. There were inexplicable things like tamagotchi, AOL, terrible baby doll dresses, 2Legit2Quit, domestic riots and federal raids, electronica, etc. all we had in the aughts was a recession, terrible clothing, and a war nobody really wanted.
