What the@****. Received my health plan by an email from AOL with my name. I would never use AOL. This is insane.

  • ItsEvelynAugust Evelyn August (@ItsEvelynAugust) reported

@AOLSupportHelp **** you for deactivating the account I've had with you since 2006 and deleting all my emails. **** you.

  • OsRubberSpatula Occam's Rubber Spatula (@OsRubberSpatula) reported

@2000s_web I was working at AOL tech support when this came out, and one of the "teams" changed their name to "Team Badger"... back then, and to this very day, no one could explain to me what this was, why it was cool, and why cartoon badgers were bouncing their scrotums on the ground...

  • emmeyekayeee Mike J 👹🐀 🤘🏻 (@emmeyekayeee) reported

@mbillips @ScottGreenfield AOL had complete internet access. You could run any program alongside AOL and use the internet. At the time there just weren't many other ways to connect. As for being crap social media, they were the 1.0 version.

@DaveTarantini @peter_mantas @breadcrumbsre The AOL Time Warner merger is the OG bad merger involving Warner. Dot com top.

Twitter = Time Warner Elon = AOL The most stupid sale / purchase ever? 15 $ for 54 $ and do you really think Elon is smart?

@Enfi10 @JUNlPER Facebook wasn’t out. I may be thinking more along the lines of MySpace, but people definitely were in ICQ, Netscape, Oracle, Compuserve, AOL Instant messenger, Friendster, and downloading **** off Napster. The early internet was a weird place. Dudes would sit around all night

  • TekTheTech ➲George K (@TekTheTech) reported

@EmilBangMik @OnlyTrueAnika Yeah I love those features as well as sharing dnd status, I just hate that it's nothing more than an instant message service feature like AOL or aim and has nothing to do with text messaging

  • xerostyle xerostyle (@xerostyle) reported

@Hedgehog_marlow That **** is all marketing. You can see the utility of AI engines immediately, and it's a technology in it's absolute infancy. NFTs as jpegs you buy is stupid, but it's kinda like AOL keywords before Google.

  • BTheMagnetic1 B_The_Magnetic (@BTheMagnetic1) reported

@GamewithDave Wow. AOL IM and phone internet, hard Floppy disk, CDs, and the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 Memory card…damn, it’s been a minute.
