"When possible, send e-mail newsletters as HTML instead of plain text. Note: Users of AOL 6.0 and earlier may experience issues with viewing HTML e-mail messages." Wow. It's been /years/ since I saw that last... And it was on an otherwise modern site. XD

  • MollyBloom10 Molly Bloom Brat (@MollyBloom10) reported

@FrieselRobert The internet is a big anonymous cesspool of bad behavior. Has been since AOL floppies were inserted into our drives. After 30+ years of it, I don’t let it get to me anymore. My standing reaction is “Whatever” (Delete/Block).

  • TedInJest TedInJest (@TedInJest) reported

It was still AOL 1.0 when I first joined. They charged by the hour for slow dial-up service. Before that, I used Excel 2.0 running on a run-time version of Windows 2.0. Before that I used Lotus 1-2-3 running on MS-DOS 2.0 (or maybe 1.0?)

@shishtta @AOLSupportHelp Were you able to find a fix for this? I’m in the same situation right now

  • dkiesow Damon Kiesow (@dkiesow) reported

@henderson_mark Media did distribute via HTML, but they did not invent it or really make great use of it? The content/service was basically what they had in print and/or on AOL etc.

  • terinjokes Terin Stock (@terinjokes) reported

Considering AOL is forcing everyone to switch to OAuth2 or App Specific Passwords, maybe someone at el Google will fix this in the coming months.

  • terinjokes Terin Stock (@terinjokes) reported

After a decade of Gmail checking my AOL email, it looks like the POP3 feature is finally broken.
