How do scammers identify s target? I get several emails daily (only from google, never from my AOL account) about Well Fargo or Chase or PayPal having sent me money and is always hundreds of thousands of dollars. Do folks fall for this crap? Wish they quit.

Some of new apps sound good on paper but deleted right away. Clubhouse is like random AOL chat room meets bad Ted Talk - immediately turned off. Public is like the Robinhood meets Spotify for teen investors, felt really fluffy and predatory. Both are filled w/ 🔥 emojis + hustle

Don’t miss aol and seeing 8 “what’s up f-word” smashers smh. Everyone hated that word, if you’re down to call a straight guy that better run before the punches come lol. Stay dead aol

@barton3432 Isn't that stupid? I've tried yahoo, aol, gmail and signed up with Proton and tried that. Nope. I get the message "if your email is in our database, we'll send you an email...." blah **** blah **** blah ****. Yahoo email I've probably had for 20 years. AOL for 19 for sure.

It was a finance startup, run as one of Steve Case's companies, as in, AOL Steve Case. We even came up with a plan to distribute basically gift cards on cereal boxes just like AOL CDs because it was a lower customer acquisition cost. Anyway...

Random fact about me: I’m friends with a girl I met in an AOL chat room when I was 15 (I’ll be 40 in a couple of months). We’ve stayed in contact and have never met.
