I don't know if this will reveal my age and how long I've been alive, but if you think about the progression of internet chat, we had: AOL, Skype, Kik and now we have Discord. Damn! (If I'm missing any, let me know.)

@astaranx Wasn’t AOL originally a game renting service for Mac computers too?

anybody been on Myspace lately? AOL? Compuserve? Yes, the easiest solution would be for @elonmusk to buy Twitter. But, *competition* is the solution. Sure, a dozen little sites may not be able to defeat Twitter... but one may catch-on. The shotgun approach to capitalism.

@InternetTrey That’s the only problem with any WWE Sanctioned docs they twist the narrative of what happened. Like WCW, they conveniently always leave out the actual that thing that killed it was the AOL Time Warner merger etc. #

@davestwittylife True. There ought to be a safe internet for kids and the elderly. The old AOL would have been perfect as all content was internally generated. Although, email is probably the greatest risk. Maybe have a white list only email service with literally only pre-approved ppl.

@durhua You can't compare the gacha scene of 2016 to the gacha scene of the 2020s, so in my opinion it wasn't all that wrong for GI fandom to be disappointed (not just anniv, lack of communication, slow AOL adjustments, etc.) The only thing I agree was wrong is the review bombing.

i dont know why music artists would have a problem with their song being overplayed @AOL
