  @boostmobile Boost Mobile reminds me so much of the 1990's AOL. Their customer service makes it one of the worst MVNO carriers today! Their creative accounting is so hard for their reps to understand, so how is a customer going to?

  I miss ragebaiting peeps on AOL with my parents desktop computer those were the days. Poor fellows didn't even know they were arguing with an 8 year old urchin

  Something about $BSP: they bought AOL at a 5x income before tax, which is optically cheap right? The small issue is that they bought it from Apollo and imho there's zero chance Apollo got a bad deal

  There was an Internet before the internet. My parents bought an IBM PS1 from sears as our first modern computer when I was in elementary school. It came with Prodigy which was like a big BBS and a free trial of Compuserve, which I think was the predecessor to AOL, both ran on dial up. I liked compuserve better because it had chat rooms but it had some heinous bill by the minute rate once you exhausted the free trial. At 8 years old the only thing that occurred to me to do with this technology was to relentlessly and nonsensically troll the chat rooms until I ultimately got banned from the entire platform. Well, a month later my mom gets a $200 bill from compuserve (I blew well past the free trial) and she calls them irate. Apparently in this call she was told I ran up the charges and btw I was also banned. She couldn’t believe this so I guess she asked why I was banned and the rep told her I was spamming their chat rooms saying “I like big breasted women” which was apparently against their terms of service and they would not be refunding anything given my behaviour. Got home from 3rd grade that day to get quite an ear full about this. But I guess I get bonus points for being banned from the internet before there even was an internet. I still like big breasted women tho you can’t hold me down.

Gas Status: Officials stated that the gas service to the building had been turned off for a long time. Building History: The structure was built in the late 1890s—initially as a Jewish synagogue before serving as the Friendship Baptist Church for decades. Prior Issues: Police had responded to reports of break-ins and vandalism at the empty property over the years. According to an AOL report, no injuries were reported, but the 100-year-old structure suffered a catastrophic collapse of its wooden interior and is considered a total loss.

  @nasykuching Back in the 90s when I had AOL dial up I used to print all the fanfics I wanted to read offline bcuz our landline phone was always used by my mom to call family overseas So I think printing them out for personal use shouldn't be a problem so long as you aren't trying to profit🤔

  @MuseumCommodore 17 for me. Never used a TAC-2. I am too young to have seen a C64 running in a store. But I have left things like the 10-print maze running on a C64 I found in use at a daycare. I sadly missed QuantumLink. I called the 800 number once, and an AOL rep answered.

  @BrianRoemmele I was working for NyNex in NYC and installed some of the first residential ISDN data lines. Years later, folks started using dial-up internet service after getting AOL cd's in the mail. Then we graduated to DSL and thought the future is here! It's funny looking back at it all.

  @akafaceUS It used to take days to cancel AOL. Now you just have to resist the temptation of Sirius radio for $5 a month. No, would you pay $3 a month?
