I just overheard my mom giving her AOL email address to a customer rep and now I keep making fun of her by mimicking the dial up noise.

@BowTiedRobin My mom wouldn’t pay for AOL. We would use the trial until it ran out - then shut it down until the next disc came

@SparklngCyanide @Apple Can't remember the model number, but it was a cheap crappy HP Pavilion my mom bought at Walmart in the early 2000s. Still had a floppy drive and a lil cubby for my AOL CDs on top. Ran Windows Me. Piece of crap. But it was MY piece of crap.

@420AttyChicago @saoliver1051 @BruceGodfrey Maybe. But maybe not how you mean it. One of the best private criminal defense lawyers in this state has an AOL address. And you’re right because if a prosecutor gets an email from her AOL account, they’re in for a terrible time.

Sometimes I remember the 40 year old man in the Air Force who sent me a **** pic on AOL when I was 9 and I hope he’s having the worst life

@kevinolearytv How can that be if no one knows who Satoshi is? If they do know it's all a lie. I guess we should have just stayed with AOL Online and never developed fiber. 🙄

@MuldoonMartin @kevinolearytv Comparing Bitcoin to AOL is a bad analogy. The entire internet was built on top of TCP/IP because it was an open network. Comparing Bitcoin to TCP/IP is just about the only realistic comparison you can make.

"New site called YouTube had eBaums on their heels. I'd been kicked out of more AOL chats than I'd like to admit. Back then, you could never trust a link on AIM. 95% of the time, it's spyware, and the other 5%, it's Rotten dot com. Explains a lot in hindsight..."
