@RadioCarla They had all those Studio Stores in the 90s which were successful and wonderful too, but the AOL merger shut them down. The new regime didn’t like to pay rent $$$

@judgeht21 @respectablepp @molly0xFFF LOL, what articles? Were you even alive in the 90’s? I had broadband internet in 1996 and working from home when necessary by y2k. By the middle of the decade millions were using dial up via ISPs or AOL and the like. The blockchain literally solves for zero problems.

Every week there’s a story about someone “almost” getting kidnapped and added to some mysterious human trafficking ring. They all end with ZERO legal action… y’all do the math. Some of y’all never used AOL and it shows.

@FinesseEness I saw someone write down “@ aol .com” and immediately looked back up at them. I just feel like you lying.

Acquisitions can help companies diversify and help them plant a flag in another industry, but they can also lead to mismanagement, culture clash, and poor decision making (see: AOL-Time Warner, AT&T-DirecTV, AT&T-Time Warner).

@ZOTAC Come from a very low in-come area. We were building PCs on very strict budgets to help get people connected, and donated many. We were the first on our street to even have DSL after AOL.

@IBJIYONGI One of tech’s biggest scams is subscription-based paid apps/platforms. This ain’t the days of free software with every computer sold unless they get to track you. Even then... (never thought AOL cd’s would ever be missed... lol)

@sharrond62 2/2 I'm trying out a reporting service that claims to identify and block the addresses & isp's. (SpamCop)...will see how it goes! Funny thing, before Yahoo got involved, AOL had almost zero spam traffic, and I've been with them over 20 years!
