    Hey, @thepressboxpod: Worth an emergency pod? If so, here's my Q... First AOL, now AT&T. Why would anyone want to merge w/WarnerMedia ever again? It's always a historically bad outcome. Also: Might WarnerMedia be cursed? #HarryPotterAndTheCursedMediaConglomerate

  • BitcoinLabrador BitcoinSavesTheClimate (@BitcoinLabrador) reported

    @DickWhitmanBTC @tracyalloway Problem is that nobody knows what TCP/IP is or how the internet works. It's not an easy methaphor. AOL/"tHe MySpAcE oF cRyPtO is something everyone understands, because they have experience with companies failing.

  • nagaraj_hubli Nagaraj Hubli (@nagaraj_hubli) reported

    @tracyalloway Such an ignorant take, Bitcoin is a protocol not an app or service, it's more like a TCP/IP, and not like Aol. Good luck trying to replace TCP/IP with a newer and slicker technology.

  • Nicholas_Boyer Nick Boyer (@Nicholas_Boyer) reported

    @tracyalloway If you've done any real research, there are MANY reasons why Bitcoin will never be the "AOL of crypto." People who say things like this reveal an utter lack of knowledge/understanding of Bitcoin and "crypto".

  • Chip192203 Steve Connolly (@Chip192203) reported

    Apparently AOL does not want me sending e-mail this morning. 3 attempts to multikple addresses have failed with: There was a problem saving the message. Please try again later. (EC-4008). Of course AOL will blame some other outfit for the problem. Anyone else having issues?

  • ThePennyMarvels Hoodie Peaks (@ThePennyMarvels) reported

    @ObiWanJakolby ****, remember AOL?

  • stgsmith Steve Smith (@stgsmith) reported

    @AdamHartley43 @matteoianni @MichaelaArouet Yup. The few wildly successful names like Amzn saw ridiculous drawdowns that took over a decade to claw back from-- many more like QCOM took two decades. God help you if you bought something like AOL, which was the clear and far away "internet" leader at the time.

  • ShawnStone_duh Shawn Stone (@ShawnStone_duh) reported

    @willmckinley Toss it in the graveyard of bad mergers next to "An AOL Time Warner Company"

  • kirbypufocia kirby "new album in bio" pufocia (@kirbypufocia) reported

    i think perhaps if you dont remember "pretending to be" a teenaged girl in AOL chatrooms and getting called a ****** and disgrace by your dad after some kid reports your **** for swearing (the ISP would just email your parents back then lol) you're not an "internet veteran"

  • ChigzLord ChigzLord 🛡️ (@ChigzLord) reported

    @tracyalloway if you want better comparison you have to compare TCP/IP (Internet protocol) with AOL (a private network) your comparing the wrong thing silly num num.
