  • JohnFWWEAEW John (@JohnFWWEAEW) reported

@PurpleMidneight Before there was social media, in the days when AOL was the Internet, Bam Bam Bigelow was a semi regular customer at my job. I didn't exactly become friends on a personal level with him, but we did get along well, he knew that he'd get great service when I was there.

  • Octim1 Tim Knoch (@Octim1) reported

@LenRavelo I remember talking baseball on AOL chatrooms, it was when people were more innocent. Never got a troll or rude person.

  • Brad08414464 Brad (@Brad08414464) reported

@AltcoinPepe you could argue that DCAing into ETH and BTC is still a bad strategy. These things are not lindy. They could be the next Yahoo or AOL for all we know.

  • CryptoN86921663 SolanaPierma | 🐰🍀 (@CryptoN86921663) reported

Crypto feels like the exciting days of AOL, Yahoo Chat rooms, and trading Pokémon cards, except now that it's Discord, Twitter, and NFTs. I've never had so much fun since then. Except for the market crash part... #nfts #sol $SOL #cryptocrash

  • GameSlushPile Mordie (@GameSlushPile) reported

@PeteSkerritt Not quite. I watched my brother's first interaction in a chat room on AOL. "**** you!" to somebody saying hi. My dad was furious.

    WHO ******** USES AOL

  • comradebirb Bookbirb (@comradebirb) reported

@anthonyzenkus @dude_in_lville Thinking back to being a volunteer moderator on AOL's religion discussion boards, along w/Beliefnet's boards on AOL in the late 90's, early noughts. I got my acct paid for as a thank you. I had to go thru training. If I made a mistake, a volunteer supervisor would help correct it

@Wrestling80s90s It may not have been the final nail in the coffin but it certainly didn’t help the public perception of WCW. The AOL famously didn’t want rasslin’ on their station but this kind of stuff surely didn’t help.

  • _Ricky_Willis Ricky Willis (@_Ricky_Willis) reported

now experiencing nostalgia for terrible AOL Instant Messenger chat bots

@intocryptoverse No, but I remember when AOL shut down their servers at 11pm PST every night.
