夏小栀 (@bch_sun) reportedWhen the Internet first appeared, many people thought AOL was the Internet. Later, people discovered the Internet was still there. AOL wasn't. Then came a time when people thought Yahoo was the Internet. After that Google was the Internet. Then Facebook was the Internet. And now AI companies are becoming the new center of attention. The Internet itself never disappeared. The center of gravity simply kept changing.

Star Wars Timeline (Ben) 🇷🇺🇺🇸 (@SWT_Channel) reported@MarcFinkPart7 @KevinLamb74 Prequels were on everyone's lips, even casuals who aren't movie nerds at all. Everyone was involved. All the biggest fan site forums, AOL chat rooms, heck even Newgrounds site all debated about it. In big cities like NYC you'd never hear the end of pro/against conversations at comic shops, B&N book stores, libraries. I was finishing up HS going on to college in 2001 and everyone at my campus at Lehman College talked about it.

Stephen Cowie (@Coobacca) reported@AOL What a load of ****. None of this has been recently revealed. It's been common knowledge in the entertainment industry and movie fandom for decades. Total clickbait bullshit.

MmmSushi (@MMmmmmSushi) reported@megaburger_usd1 @ciderpunk20 She got put through the ringer not only on X, but also on discord. This was the very first token created on AOL and it got rugged. In fact, EVERY single $aol token has been rugged. They're literally offering apys off rugged tokens from their platform. How sad is that ****?

Sally Hawley Chesser (@HawleyChesser) reported@AntiLeftMemes 19, only because I was never a subscriber of AOL. I very easily could have - as in I have been alive the entire time the addresses have been available. So simply for my age, and availability/using simular email, I would have a total of 20.

Disavowed (@DisavowedVet) reported@LauraLoomer I was there when the internet first became a public space Back when you got 3 AOL disks in the mail every week Everyone thought that with the internet giving access to the sum total of human knowledge to everyone, regardless of class or income or credentials, that the population would become more informed than ever before in human history What happened - Within ten years99% of the internet became disinformation, games, and **** I think that the internet has brought more bad than good
