@chiefinnovation @johnbirchman @brockmcginnis I grew in the era of AOL....chat rooms and instant messenger. I’m thankful there wasn’t Facebook/etc. didn’t exist yet. Would be awful during teenage years.

@RubinReport You can do useful things with the AOL cd, like use it as a signal mirror, hell, even just using it as a coaster to protect your furniture from unsightly coffee rings is more useful in a survival situation than AOC.

@RubinReport AoL. With the shiny side of the disk I could signal for help if a plane or ship ever passed. AoC is a lot less usefull.

@camannwordsmith AOC is pretty damn smart, pretty cute, and has some fly dance moves, AOL is as defunct as the GOP, easiest decision I'll never have to make.

@kuviraava I was a heavy internet user from like, age 10, but it was all AOL chat rooms where the idiot things I said disappeared into the ether and forums where no one could ever connect one of my accounts to another. I can't imagine having to grow up online the way things are now.

@RubinReport Most comments here focus on AOC physical attributes but none seem to remember how horrendous AOL was. On a deserted island I'd rather have AOC trying to mimic the sound of the handshake of a 28k bauds modem in a coconut phone than trying to get this stupid CD to work

@RubinReport If you’ve never used an AOL CD to cut fruit, you’re not an ‘80s kid.
