@chiefinnovation @johnbirchman @brockmcginnis I grew in the era of AOL....chat rooms and instant messenger. I’m thankful there wasn’t Facebook/etc. didn’t exist yet. Would be awful during teenage years.

People who demand we call our customer service to get their aol password when we have nothing to do with aol. And when we can’t help them, throw **** around the store and say we’re against them.

I never complain about things not being as good as they used to be because the old stuff is still available. Right next to the new stuff, at your fingertips waiting to be streamed I used to have to download mp3's on AOL with a 28.8k modem. Y'all can't tell me nothin about nothin

@AimingHigher11 @electroboyusa Yeah, me too. I got the Gmail email addy bc G requires me to. It's a variation of my aolmail one. Can never remember the passwords to either bc I'm always logged in. I guess we're s'posta change pw every so often for security; now might be a good time. 🙃

@emmy_zje Back years ago when aol was bombarding mailboxes with cds for signup i knew a few under 25 males who would pretend to be women in the chat rooms. They seemed to get off on the fantasy. I've never done it

I couldn't finish Fear Street 1994. You could tell in the first 15 mins of the show how lazy the writers were. Garbage I'm only happy when it rains came out in 1995. AOL messenger came out in 1997. Also you couldn't use a lan line phone and internet at the same time. Wtf

@The_CryptoKid Napster before iTunes. Netscape before chrome. AOL before everything else. Network effects are important, but will bow before superior tech.

@RonnieFilyaw I was going to say they have limited lifespans because the companies that create them die quickly, but this is incorrect. eg: Officially licensed Transformers convention & fan club ran a forum for 7 years that was straight out of AOL era, & bad security resulted in CC fraud.
