@james_xond Outside of school it was landlines, cell phones (after a certain time only, otherwise it was stupid expensive) or AOL instant messenger.

@xxDFed117xx I never did AOL. So I know it is not that one. But for my life, I can't remember what all existed. I know I had a hotmail account before I moved to Gmail. I thought hotmail had something before they boned their own company. Same as Yahoo.

Gen Z will never understand what AOL chat rooms were when you did not have parental control. I used to pretend I was like 17 when I was like 10 years old and I gave him my number. His wife ended up calling me. I told her how old I was I never found out what happened

I never really got Michael Gira hype but I just heard Angels of Light for the first time and am currently wondering why Swans gets talked about ad nauseum while AoL doesnโ€™t bc We Are Him kicks ******* ***

@ThrillaRilla369 My first was AOL, which i had before the web. Yep, pre-web internet was all the rage back then. I had a dial-up, 1300 baud rate modem. Ask @Grok how ancient and slow a 1300 baud rate dial up modem is! Criminy!

It's sooooo bad. My openclaw is not loving the AOL dialup speeds and latency.
