    @avrldotdev @ChShersh America Online chat rooms, they were built into the AOL ISP Service. Programmers at that time congregated in "vb" (because phaders were made in Visual Basic)

    @JabroniJeremy @ChrisArctor Why would fans need to know about it in order for it to have ramifications on the wrestling business? If it changed creative plans, THAT’S the shift in business. Regardless if every single fan was logging into their AOL account to read about it…. Are you slow?

    @iiamkrshn Lets see if this works. Okay, I'm trying to remember the name of this game that was Santa theme'd. You played as Santa, I played it on was when AOL games. The graphics were pretty terrible, Everything was pixel art, There were presents involved

    @pinglyadya @unclegubsey OpenAI is irrelevant. The first one to market in a novel industry never survives. Facebook killed Myspace Cable Internet killed AOL Google killed Yahoo Chrome killed Internet Explorer It's exponentially easier to take someone else's invention and make it better.

    so many problems with the internet would be solved if we went back to the aol-era pay per-minute model & figured out a way to pass through 80% to the people that made whatever you’re looking at.

    @BrianRoemmele As a part of the original AOL message board moderator's "team" (hundreds of us that never met...just online) from 1991 into late-'96, I remember seeing this ad during an in-house case study before released. I can't recall if there were changes from then to the final cut, but I do remember that the whole premise seemed too contrived - with a seemingly washed up 60s actor.
