@RepSwalwell My 4 yr old Son just hit me up on AOL instant messenger to ask if that gun was the same gun Joe Byron’s son threw in a dumpster after falsifying his application? I had to explain to him we will never know because if it were, the feds would have just covered up. This one stings.

Duh, AOL minutes are worthless today because a central entity could print them. If there had been a cryptographically-enforced hard cap on the number of minutes in circulation then they'd never have been debased. Glad we've learned our lessons.

@equilatera7 Honestly, as **** as AOL was in general for internet service, AIM was probably one of the most widely-used, and hella-useful messaging platforms out there until it decided to shutter. Literally anyone who was in college from 1999 - 2010 or so used the **** out of it.

@DeaconBlues0 Never been in an AOL chatroom, but the flame wars on Usenet were entertaining, too (for those not getting flamed).
