@laura_hudson I think a lot about the time I spent in AOL as a kid. I created a chatroom called "I'll write a poem for you" and when someone entered, I did. And made a bunch of cool friends. Today's equivalent is some dude in my DMs, but his opening line isn't the worst one I've ever seen.

  • thesnakebit10PS Jason (@thesnakebit10PS) reported from Crisfield, Maryland

@IamElSkeletor Did the AOL disc trial for just about a year. Every month I called to cancel they would give me another month and then at Christmas time they gave me 2 months extra. I know they were thinking I'd forget a month and then I'd be locked into their price.

Careful out there. FB Marketplace is a scammers paradise. Take only cash. Say no to Zelle and PayPal. If someone asks YOU for money, it’s not real. Zelle’s support email is not aol or gmail, neither is Paypal

  • DPUGZ88 popeye the sailor man (@DPUGZ88) reported

One of my deepest darkest secrets is that I got kicked out of an AOL chat room when I was 7 because I said “WTF host” in regard to the chat room host being a *****.

  • denniskdraws Dennis Kanenwisher (@denniskdraws) reported

I miss when everybody was just on AOL instant messenger. Now I gotta have three apps for programs I never use outside of talking to the two friends of mine that only use that app

  • Mjaneclem Mary Jane Clement (@Mjaneclem) reported

@AOLSupportHelp I’m getting notices that older versions of AOL are being shut down? Don’t want to respond.

  • HunterAA6 HUNTER AVALLONE (@HunterAA6) reported

@Sondsol When you invite the **** talking hater to join and defend the dumb **** they're saying and they go instantly to "what is discord? What's the Internet? I haven't setup my AOL dial up yet...what is a computer???"

  • Tee4Tweeting T🧚‍♂️4Tweet (@Tee4Tweeting) reported

I helped a customer today who had an aol email address. I commented I hadn’t seen that in a while. She said it was her 70 yr old mother’s. I said “But Momma was in her late 40’s back then, I bet she was a cougar in those chat rooms.” we had a good laugh. Then I got fired.

  • ResistMeena Dr. Schadenfreude Sally (@ResistMeena) reported

DM'd with both Verizon and AOL like they requested, but they did nothing to help. They look responsive on Twitter but it's lip service. It's a shame Verizon solely relies on AOL, a dying company, for email. Gmail better with spam filtering but can't change my primary email now.
