@swodinsky Hard issues we struggled with at AOL when we adopted policy to handle reports such as my friend messaged me about suicide were privacy, ethics, liability, standards, cost of system/people,. When to report, when to support, when to ignore.

  • _Imnoscientist Empirical Evidence (@_Imnoscientist) reported from Lauderhill, Florida

Whenever I see an iCloud email address, I just know this call is about to be some bullshit. They're almost as bad as aol and yahoo email addresses.

  • TacoBoutSports 🌮 Bout Sports (@TacoBoutSports) reported from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

@MrBill11 @Rizzmiggiz @SweepTheLeg337 Bad Wolves teams plus NBA was slow and a half court game. Way less of an extreme, but this is why comparing MJ/Bron or any stupid Bill Russell comparison is pointless. It’s like comparing AOL 2.0 to AOL 8.0... and now that I’ve used an AOL analogy, I tap out

@AOL Sat night i was signed out and told to sign in again and again. Wouldn't accept password. I was put into a loop: signed in, please sign in, signed in, please sign in, signed in, please sign in. Over and over. Sunday i was looked out for changing my password too many times.

  • BloggerAnthony Anthony Dean (@BloggerAnthony) reported

@nemalki Re: Boomerang, sprucing up the streaming service by adding more older CN shows might be nice. A discount bundle with HBO Max could be an option, but wonder if it’s too niche vs Max. Re: AT&T, worse case scenario is they pull an AOL and spin off WarnerMedia?

  • CPetersen_CS Chris (@CPetersen_CS) reported

@BeijingPalmer Ah, the "good old days"... AOL rando: "Wait, you're not female?" Me: "No, sorry." AOLr: "That's so weird!" Me: "How so?" AOLr: "You're like ... nice ... in chat rooms." Me: "So, not running around like a rabid ******* on a 4-day ****** binge makes me seem female to you?"

  • BloggerAnthony Anthony Dean (@BloggerAnthony) reported

@nemalki AOL went through some of the same trouble, but ultimately ended up selling off Time Warner, so it's possible. Though they didn't have to contend with the Donald showing antitrust interest (for petty reasons, but...), or AT&T's massive debt...

  • esabine1980 Erik Sabine (@esabine1980) reported

@WhatCultureWWE WCW was never meant to thrive. Especially under the Time Warner/AOL merger. Only when Ted Turner owned his own company by majority did WCW stand a chance. Ted loved WCW. I was a major WCW fan, but that place must have been hell to work at from 1999-2001.

  • Symonator Symonator (@Symonator) reported

Getting rid of Virgin media once and for all. Sick of inconsistent connection after 6:45pm - might aswell use aol dial up... Remember that speed? That's where I'm at and @virginmedia international hardly speaking English customer service is a absolute nightmare.

  • blainegarrett Blaine Garrett (@blainegarrett) reported

@ryanflorence When I worked at AOL circa 2006, I discovered the two factor login only considered the first x characters of the password. We had keyfobs with rotating codes. You'd concat the code and pw when logging in. It was scary.

  • rowlandville rowlandville (@rowlandville) reported

@LoloGberg Yes? 1990s. AOL chatroom. Another guy and I were the jokesters. An in-person was arranged for the group. The other jokester? The shyest human being I had ever met. Once met a woman online. She flew in. She had used someone else's photo. Whoa! You never know.

  • mistermemoryman Clive Wright (@mistermemoryman) reported

@SophieSawdust Had this issue for some time & sent several DM’s to AOL Help. Like you,AOL app works fine. Problem is when setting AOL Mail app on iPads and iphones. This means issue is with Apple not AOL. Deleting Mail account on Apple & reinputting password does not solve it.
