10 years ago we were toiling behind the scenes, all of us working remotely, using forums, AOL instant messenger, then MSN and ultimately Skype to talk in real time… I remember writing and drawing terrible sketches artists turned into absolute visions… we worked hard.

@benedictevans Recall when AOL and Yahoo thought about integrating their messaging - they couldn't (at the time) afford big enough pipes to handle the bandwidth of just "online status" updates between the two systems. These are large scale issues, as you point out. This isn't just "make it so"

i don't know how long i can be on social networking cause i hate the internet.. it leads to open servers in live interaction.. i never thought i would say this but aol was quieter through wired connections.. apple is at work at the moment to trying to fix it..
