    @retheauditors The Teva purchase of Actavis’ generics division for $41B has to be high on the list. Does a partial stake count? If so, Altria buying part of Juul, then immediately marking it down massively. How about a merger? AOL-Time Warner, of course.

    @MMortemm I’ve been on the internet since 1991, first using Telnet at UT, then EarthLink. I never used AOL.

    This revisionist history is amusing but, holy crap, these people talking about the AOL internet era like it is 1942 is truly delusional. Were things different? Of course, but there was no era in history that was pure & wholesome. There were always folks pushing boundaries.

    I never, ever even think about putting on the TV in the morning. I’ve only done it twice, that I recall. Once on 9/11, when I woke up late, randomly turned the TV on for background noise as I fired up AOL IM, right in between the two towers being hit. (1/2)
