I remember AOL Messenger I hated when the disk came in and they had scratches. 56K was "the ****!" Then it turned into just "****!". I lives the evolution did you?

I once wrote (a really awful) screenplay where Alec Baldwin & Jennifer Lopez agreed to star in it. Financing fell through (thankfully for us all) and the movie was never made. Think Usual Suspects meets AOL in the late 90's and crank the cheese meter to full blast.

@Lum_ holy **** im old and i dont like it. pre to early 90s: dial up BBS mid to late 90s: somethingawfuldotcom, portalofevil then: aol, powwow, icq, and aim, in that order. now: roughly 400 discords. I skipped most social media sites until they were already dying for the next thing.

@MatthewVeasey @retiredPhlADA We could go on all day about this issue (in fact we’ve have been since the old Dom G AOL/ MattMan3rd boards). And the only thing changed is the names and faces. Still crime. Still division. 500 murders 1990. Can’t blame Krasner is the only lesson from that history

@JamesTillmanIII @BKPalpatine @MAJTOURE There would have never been an internet without the government. Instead, you would have had a dozen companies like AOL and CompuServe with incompatible protocols and no reason to make them compatible.
