@phkeane @web @fromedome Wow! was internet access (and a small peice of CIS content) bulk of Compuserve was not included in Wow! package. 6 months later, AOL offered all it’s content for flat monthly fee. Also Wow! never really worked, and shut down as soon as AOL when to flat pricing.

I felt that AOL and Outlook killed email, cemented by the never ending September. Now I’m finally starting to see email be tagged for being a security problem. The replacement is text/chat, not tied to email. We need open-source chat, w/ public open accounts and integrations.

@0xTomoyo Late thirties and I like discord. I mean it has all the same UX issues as other iterations of tech going back to the AOL chatrooms. It's fun tho.

@UnStatedMedia @mikealfred This is true. Crypto needs to become user friendly (read: idiot proof) before it's going to be adopted by the masses. No doubt some bastard hybrid will be created, like AOL was to the advent of email.

Actually now that I think about it, a guy in his 60s with an AOL address has never worked for someone else, and never had to change it. Never had to worry about technology. And still pays $14.99 a month for email. This dude might be a billionaire
