  I have worked for two major internet providers AOL and Comcast and helped create an AI software program to do technical support in a call center to solve internet connectivity problems by a staff member being instructed how to address the caller and the questions to ask

  Fax machine: yup Rotary phone: seen, never used Encyclopedia: yup Floppy disk: I was an early 90s kid. Yes. Aol address: never had one but I think my dad did Record player: family had one Film camera: depends. If this is actual movie film, no. If classic roll of film you have to develop? Yes. Mixed tape: had a few. Phone booth: yes. Cursive: man it has been a long time but yes. Check book: yes. Typewriter: yes Dictionary: multiple times before Google was a thing VCR: it was how I watched the original land before time, secret of NIMH, and others. Paper map: yes. Waterbed: once Postcard: multiple times Walkman: wasn't that lucky Phonebook: yes. 17/20

  Goddammit it..... 20.... I had to fax away financial paperwork for schooling. I used a rotary phone at my grandmother's. When I was a kid, I've used it encyclopedia, because I was always interested in facts in looking stuff up. I used floppy disks Galore back in the day. I had an AOL email. I still have my records and my record player. I loved dial up internet, but it was so slow. Cool but slow i've used an old school film camera and then even in old school picture camera with film. Yes, there's a difference once for movies. One's for pitchers i've used a phone booth when I didn't have a cellphone back in the day i had to write cursive in grade three i had to use checks to pay for some stuff.And to get direct deposits set up with work i used a typewriter in typing class in school i use a dictionary sometimes cause I can't spell worth a darn i had a bunch of vhs, tapes and v c r's when I was a kid i used a paper map because where we were going, we didn't have gps, and then I even printed out the map quest directions my grandfather used to have a water bed in his guest room i've sent.I don't know how many postcards i had a walkman and a discman and yes they're different and I even used the phone book when I was younger to orderbTakeout now if you don't mind, i'm gonna go yell at some kids that are crossing my lawn lol jk but seriously I feel so old now

  AOL is certainly likeable. I like her. She's just not here in America's best interest. She's not. Some say she's the enemy. And they may be right. They, are not the enemy, they care about what's good for America. Now AOL has some real jewels seeking out against Americans, as a US Congressperson, she may be over stepping her obligation to the "Right" people. Not that she's never, "Right", you can be Right, and still represent the wrong people. Which people does she actually serve???? That's the Right question.

  The model: buy unloved internet assets, rebuild the technology, centralise the infrastructure, cut the cost base, keep the cash. More than 50 acquisitions since 2013, and they have never sold a business. Evernote. WeTransfer. Vimeo. Meetup. Brightcove. Eventbrite. AOL.

  @Latterdaytruth The video clip of the TV show Cheers where Rebecca is asking why more men can’t bring flowers and is misheard as Mormons: back in the early days of of AOL I found the clip and edited it so instead of saying “I wish someone would send me some damn roses” it says “I wish someone would send me some some roses” so I could share it with my in-laws who wouldn’t have appreciated the “damn” Now my version is the most common one you can find on the Internet.

  @JohannBiermann1 The bit worth adding: they never sell what they buy, so this isn't a flipper; it's more like a hospice for tired apps that turns a profit. AOL and Evernote under one Italian roof is a sentence that shouldn't exist but does.
