@UnconsciousMum Raising teenagers was tough 30 years ago, but we NEVER imagined the impact the internet would have. MySpace and AOL messenger were nothing in comparison to what parents today are forced to deal with.

  • theheartofjames James Michael Peaceful (@theheartofjames) reported

@SophRossss AOL and for really cutting-edge internet geeks, IRC - Internet Relay Chat - was how we were social before Social Media, they don't know how cool IRC was because they have never even heard of it. I've been online full-time since 1997.

  • PoochHerder PoochHerder (@PoochHerder) reported

@Death_Bow I only disagree in that you forgot to mention the giant wire spool coffee table that sat in front of the couch that was picked up off the sidewalk on garbage day. Maybe just me, but I also decorated my first Christmas tree with empty holiday Coca-Cola cans and AOL floppy disks.

  • HumanBiotics Bro. A. Shinfayah 4th (@HumanBiotics) reported

After 1994, this world’s foolery tried to lock the Minister’s voice up with The internet which launched in 1995 I believe, with AOL chat, with cellphone service PrimeCo, MCI, Sprint, Black Planet chat; everything to get our minds off of Farrakhan!

  • Moose2pointzero Moose (@Moose2pointzero) reported from Plano, Texas

@JeremyAGriffin @ImaJackwagon I never used those. Went from aol to MySpace

  • ijaqit Jason Quinn (@ijaqit) reported

@deep_jake_ Idk, I recovered free trials from AOL daily, also Juno and net zero and Yahoo… I never had to pay furor dialup in the 90’s… I’ve never received a free trial to MugClub, only ever been told “piss off YouTube!”

  • MauditePart Maudite Part (@MauditePart) reported

@scrumtuous @toby_solutions @FrancescoCiull4 Uh, I don't think that is in their plans. That's why I've never taken the internet seriously, or branding, or Jobs, or AOL. Or Data Management! Seriously, there is no such thing as a secure computer, put it on the internet and then you've really got problems.

  • blaqueword Steven Underwood (@blaqueword) reported

@Freddiesroomate He's in the AOL chatrooms calling Mace Windu rude names.

  • maxosirisart 🔥 Max 🫠 Osiris 🔥 (@maxosirisart) reported

@zigvey Reading the private searches of "anonymous" humans after the 2002/4? AOL data leak was eye opening af. I basically watched a person trying to find help about their worsening depression and then the data trail ended

  • marciern Marcie (@marciern) reported

@ThatEricAlper Dial up service on AOL
