@awealthofcs AOL! You have no clue what decentralized software means. #bitcoin is not a company or a stock bitcoin is the largest network built on the internet. Go home.

@akstanwyck My two thoughts: 1) SOMEONE made a ton of money. A few people. 2) Wait, didn't this kind of sh*tshow happen to WB with AOL in the 2000s, and didn't the executives give *precisely* the same reasons it was a blockbuster idea that couldn't possibly fail?

@alexmagnusBTC And they've never used AOL nor Bitcoin, which makes it extremely cringy.

@Poor_Bastard @BobDigi69 @ColdBloodedJoke Time Warner's biggest problem before the AT&T acquisition was that it was a collection of fiefdoms (Warner Bros, Turner, and HBO) that didn't collaborate with one another. It's why they had no problem offloading Time Inc., AOL, and Time Warner Cable.

time for everyone to fixate on whether aol is the same thing as a decentralized network (it’s not and that’s okay for the purpose of the analogy)

@JeffNewman72 @YahooNews AOL couldn't deal with Time-Warner, either. Maybe, just maybe, it's TW. Or everyone sucks.

@tracyalloway @WayneVaughan Nah the fact that bitcoin comes back again and again tells you that its not AOL. AOL failed and never came back. It relied on a lot of other internet companies who did one time ad buys. If anything is like AOL, it’s probably Coinbase.
