@THEVinceRusso After AOL/Time Warner bought Turner wrestling was done there, they didn't want it. You could have had Bret and Shawn, Flair and Steamboat, and whatever else it still wouldn't have mattered. Neither you nor Bischoff are responsible for WCW shutting down.

@marshalllarson @jasonlk Technically yes, COGs is cost of revenue. If you are providing free service for marketing (assuming they convert in future) then it goes under ***. Remember AOL?

@wckoehler ok grandpa we know it’d be “groovy” to dialup AOL or whatever but we need you to upload this yaml to the service mesh, wait for the distributed ingress controller to converge, and get this on staging because our $450m series D only gives us 3 months of runway with our AWS spend

@azeem The Web or the Internet (not the same thing)?I was using the Internet before Star Trek: TNG first started. I was there on WWW to bemoan the commercial launch of AOL on the Internet and “the September that never ended”.

  • ClimateDuncan Duncan Noble (@ClimateDuncan) reported

@linmp1031 @azeem @AOL Nope, I never did AOL. But I do remember all the CDs they sent me.

@ReneusMeister WCW’s demise was due to a combination of: A) a corporate merger (AOL/Time Warner) that took the company out of Ted Turner’s hands. B) Turner executives who were hellbent on shutting it down for years. They succeeded. C) Bad mismanagement. In what way does WWE look like WCW?

@HBOMaxHelp Dear Intern: I was learning how to design & build sites on the AOL service in the 90s. I created a gorg site....but a 2-hour download at 2400 baud at launch. Thought I was cooked. I spent all of Xmas week redesigning & rebuilding it so it DLd in fewer than 15 minutes & lived. <3

@motoridersd This is honestly why I set her family up with Google Workspace waaaaaay back when it launched as Google Apps For Your Domain (and free for up to 100 users). Better this than to have to help with being locked out of some aol . com account or some ****, lol.
