@fringeblog AOL instant messenger was released in 1997. Internet service was uncommon until 1995. The anachronisms in music were also too much for me to stomach.

@ProsaicView Did not use 1,6 & 8. They forgot AOL and MSN Search (I think that was it called back then). BTW Lycos had a great email service, probably the first to offer POP/SMTP access for free, way before GMail.

Peacock is the worst streaming services of all-time. And there isn’t a close second. It’s like using AOL in 2021. Absolute trash.

.@AOLSupportHelp and @AOL are run like scams. Which anyone under 30 realizes, but damn. "Hand over your credit card, we'll tell you how much later.. or you lose all your email from our 'free' service" is a super ****** move.

@subcontent The book was published in ‘95 when the Internet was basically AOL and a handful of corp. brochures. Computing power was ****, dial-up was ****, WiFi didn’t exist, the authors of Tik Tok weren’t ***** yet. It’s not like he wrote it in 1970, but it does feel a bit prophetic.
