  @y_molodtsov @TrungTPhan AOL was a NY based company. For 15 years, owned by Verizon and Yahoo. I don't buy that it's suddenly more cool to work on now. It's still an incredibly poorly designed home page and a predatory subscription service with old people buying crap they don't need.

  @oldmedia I know that this is kind of dumb, but I actually miss the AOL dial-up. It was annoying, and it kept my parents from being able to call anyone, but it was a very specific time we'll never get back. I was a young teenager experiencing online freedom for the first time.

  @heyraven_io @WildComputers How much does the creation of a single tiny hat cost you in USD? How many of your users are paying for the service? You are the equivalent of AOL giving dial-up minutes at a loss in the name of "growth" or non-viable dot-coms burning tons of VC capital in the name of "growth".

  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AN OPEN LETTER TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF MYSPACE Cache Ventures ("Cache"), beneficial owner of zero (0) shares of MySpace, today issued the following letter to the Board of Directors of MySpace, c/o Tim Vanderhook and Chris Vanderhook. Dear Members of the Board, We write to formally express our interest in acquiring, partnering on, or otherwise assuming operational stewardship of MySpace. I. BACKGROUND Cache has sought to engage with the Board privately on twelve (12) prior occasions. The Board has elected not to respond. For the record: all twelve messages were delivered. None bounced. Cache operates an email verification company. We are in a position to confirm this. We therefore proceed publicly, as is customary. II. RATIONALE On July 31, the Board publicly confirmed that it still owns MySpace, considers itself a steward of the brand, and intends to relaunch, pending the right time. Cache respectfully submits that the right time was approximately eleven years ago, and that the second-best time is Tuesday. We further note that today, Bending Spoons, owner of Evernote, WeTransfer, Vimeo, Eventbrite and AOL, and which has never sold a material business, announced the $1.285 billion acquisition of Airtable, a company the market valued at $11 billion in 2021. The market for beloved internet brands that stopped compounding is now competitive. MySpace is the most valuable unmanaged asset remaining in it. III. PROPOSAL Cache is prepared to: (a) acquire MySpace outright; (b) partner on the relaunch; or (c) enter a joint venture in which the Board retains control and Cache assumes the operating burden. Cache has no fund, no investment committee, and no obligation to consult anyone before signing. This is submitted as a feature. Let Cache be the Bending Spoons to your MySpace. IV. CONCLUSION The brand does not need saving. It needs someone whose entire job is waking up and running it. We remain reachable at the same address that has now worked twelve consecutive times.   Speaking of suing and losing, did you know that John Cardildo once sued AOL (yes, that AOL - remember he's a Boomer)? It must have been strange for him to be on the Plaintiff's side of the court. Anyhow, not only did he lose his lawsuit (he's never won in court period), but AOL countersued him and got a judgement for $90,547.95 against him. Hey Johnny Boy, did you ever pay your debts?
