The AOL rep just kept me on the phone reading his list of questions, & I would say "That's not relevant. I'm asking you to cancel my service." And he'd go, Okay, I'm going to put down that the customer would not answer... (3)

So we spent a long time like that because @AOL thought I had an obligation to do business with them if I couldn't give them a convincing reason I needed to cancel. This is the extreme version of making it easy to subscribe & difficult to cancel, but it's all crookery (4)

@bradheath His lawyers have aol email addresses you think they read the ToS? This **** would be hilarious if ~30-40% of the country wasn’t in his cult.

@cjrmurphy1 @SundaeRedux @AOL good points, however I only use the free aol version. I use other programs for security (Norton has it's own issues). But for the basic aol mail set up, it's just not as complicated as many others (rules, filters, etc) AOL is like "email for dummies"(me) so I feel in control.

@MollyJongFast I have an aol address that are almost never hacked… no one bothers
-
Bradley Campbell
(@CampbellSocProf) reported
Years ago I had to cancel 2 @AOL accounts. With the 2nd one I told them right away that I just wanted to cancel, didn't want any of their services, & wasn't going to answer questions. That wasn't acceptable. (2)

@adamsteinbaugh I’m surprised that John P. Coale signed on to this. I guess he’s lost his **** like Wood and Powell. The AOL email address is a nice touch!
