@Royal_BLT @Abraxsys @kevinghannah Wrong-ish. GenX built the grids and social networks over the WWW. SOME people were certainly born in a deficit AOL was the first social network browser. But my folks were in the country before Canada was a thing and decided we couldn't work up there with our cousins.

the AoL's living room had no overhead light, & we never got enough lamps in there to make it feel well-lit. my little lr here in gunny has an overhead light, & i have a floor lamp i bought off the marketplace last year, & it's so well-lit, i just really appreciate it.

@Barb25496368 It was an article, I guess, from some news source. I saw it on aol news. He says people should have a number of kids or adopt. I think adopting kids is great, but he puts down just having pets, like it’s “not as good”.

@eddieaceves I had to dm AOL support, then they linked me to. No idea why they 1- didn't tell us they were doing this ahead of time, and 2- haven't made this public anywhere that I could find.

(not super often when I was that young, and the sites were like Cartoon Network flash game sites but I distinctly remember using my moms aol chat to text her friends like as I was learning to spell)

@DearAuntCrabby I felt the same way about the AOL Guides who used to shut me down in Teen Chat, Marge. Certainly on par with the insurrection.
