@AlarisV I'm not surprised... I remember 1996 and computers had very slow processors, usually around 100 MHz. Just a few years later when I was working for AOL... Circa 2000... They were 10X faster. 😬

@xyztoni I see ppl mention AOL. In the 1990s it has all aspects of a social network, a messenger, chatrooms, and more. If that counts then AOL for me. Back in the day you had to have their App and service for that. Stuff like that couldn't run in a browser without Java applets

@Scopique Hayes, Xircom, PC TEL... I could go on and on, but I also did tech support for AOL back in '96-'98. Still stand by USR being the best... Hayes a close second.

@PalmerReport They’ve been garbage ever since AOL dummied it down, when Snowden was their “October Surprise” over industry standard troubleshooting software. We used Prism in the mid 90s and we were told to watch out for bogus calls from Orange Caligula. Too many clients just called to bully

@TechTickles I definitely loved my $229 emachines from best buy subsidized by a pinky promise to use aol which I used for a month and then cancelled...upgraded memory and replaced ME with XP and it was good to go for a while afterwards...but nope, I never did their upgrade

@GrahamTheDev @ImZackAdams They actually make horrible coasters. Back when they said AOL on them, I would insist they'd get better at being coasters with practice.
