During 9/11 I was an AOL tech talking to a New Yorker at call center, years later I went back and, job there but contract was Verizon wireless and Katrina happened. I would never work at call center again. Pay was good and benefits but disaster every damn time.🤪

  • TechTedLasso TechTedLasso (@TechTedLasso) reported

@growing_daniel That network effect got pull. The network is worth more than any if the technical assets. You'd use this thing with the interface from AOL in 1997.

The only things I’ve been banned from a site for doing are when I posted poetry to the wrong part of a site and refused to stop, and in like 2003 when I first went on a computer (that I remember) I went on an aol chat room and someone said “****” and I repeated them and got kickd

  • kenjayates Kenneth Yates (@kenjayates) reported

@cliftonaduncan Yep, I remember b&w tvs, rotary phones, staying out with friends until the street lights came on. If anyone heard their mom yelling for them you knew they were in trouble! I also remember the internet coming around and that buzzing dial-up sound. AOL logins and broadband.

  • Avis16Avis Jonathan Avis (@Avis16Avis) reported

@findthemoron Plus why closed down Jeremy Clarkson new steak restaurant last summer as well he only was open 1 month then council shut it down. I read online earlier! A story on @AOL news #clarksonsfarm2

  • notbangalore Eileen Ridge 🥧 (@notbangalore) reported

"She does everything for me," said my client's friend, who became a client yesterday, speaking about me to AOL tech support lol

  • roseburgranger Mark McKay (@roseburgranger) reported

@conquistadorof1 @CannConActual @krassenstein It’s just that he is AOL on these issues. He needs to be a leader and take charge and even responsibility (that come with the job, even if it’s not your fault).

  • TheBasedTrinity Weird ******* Lady™️ (@TheBasedTrinity) reported

@MRedivivus We were poor, but we lacked nothing. We were happy. The internet was merely AOL demo discs on hand-me-down computers. Simpler times.
