    @MalwareJake That's not true. I still remember all those damn AOL free hours disks. Oh **** maybe I am old. Thinking back to my folks old 286. God I loved that computer. Digger was a good game.

  • DisneyTechTeach Kai Rush (@DisneyTechTeach) reported

    @OGCommodore @BullishRippers Facebook looked to be headed down to the history books with Myspace & AOL, but I think Facebook Marketplace, just saved it, but I think it is going to send Ebay to the history books.

  • The_DoctorO Darren Owen (DrO | WACUP aka WinAMP++) (@The_DoctorO) reported

    @KerbBurpley because it wouldn't have made sense for aol as a software company to make it nor would it have likely made any money (business needs to make $$$). also based on the poor reception of winamp for android it'd likely have been too late to the party & not what people expected to get.

  • kevindstevens Kevin Stevens 🔋⚡️ (@kevindstevens) reported

    @clawrence Microsoft not buying Android and buying Nokia is the second worst M&A blunder in tech history. AOL taking Time Warner over eBay is first.

  • stevebuckyrites gay Jewish Bucky truther ✪ (@stevebuckyrites) reported

    remember matthew daddario's aol build interview where he talked about how, when you're representing a marginalized group it should never get to a point where you're taking advantage of them? because Hollywood needs more of that attitude

  • zucknotberg יהושע יעקב (@zucknotberg) reported

    @janecoaston “Warner Bros. (which, like EW, is owned by AOL Time Warner) apparently believes that flashing your first *********** these days is as provocative as flipping the middle one” Well, some things never change (corporate media monopolies)

  • NikhilChatu nikhil.chaturvedi.avax 🔺 (@NikhilChatu) reported

    @maniecool @Samet70092117 @cryptofishx Same situation with AOL vs Broadband in the early internet days. AOL still exists and they own some pretty big organizations but the point is that better tech and ux can unwire strong network effects. Broadband was just better infrastructure.

  • hapster85 Tony Lowe (@hapster85) reported

    @ComputerLove_ The good old days. Lol I did take advantage of a trial account, but never paid for AOL. Much preferred local and regional dialup ISPs. Probably went through a dozen of those before finally getting cable internet.

  • _caveworms 🫀LEON🫀 (@_caveworms) reported

    i have it on ps4 but still like. i grew up on that ****. that was my neopets, my aol, my deviantart

    Facebook is the only billion dollar company I know that doesn’t have live customer service. AOL had live customer service 25 years ago.
