Just heard the AOL dial tone on the phone for the first time since childhood. Not sure what to make of it other than “**** times flying”

  • beavis617 Andrew Roslak (@beavis617) reported

@WitchesFor I needed a screen name for my AOL account and I had a problem coming up with something. Me and a co-worker were big fans of MTV Beavis and Butthead... He called me Beavis at times and I called him Butthead.. Sooooo that's what happened.

  • bkelley0804 Brandon Kelley 🦬 (@bkelley0804) reported

@HuckIt999 @getmntd_ Told my buddy that it was like trying to login to AOL back in the 90s with a dial-up connection

  • LizEmDee Liz (@LizEmDee) reported

@AOL @aolmail @AOLSupportHelp trying to access old yet important emails - even if my account can’t work now, can I at least access old emails?! Just need to dig in the arsenal - don’t need to actually send anything. Please help!!

  • quintinbrown Quintin Brown (@quintinbrown) reported

Funny how it all came full circle. But it was to be expected for someone who spent his entire time inside HBO and thought he knew everything about AOL Time Warner. Time Warner mergers fail because of this internal struggle: Content or Distribution. **** Parsons was the balance.

  • El__Bohemio Bohemio of the Reeeeing Twenties (@El__Bohemio) reported

@MrColionNoir It was never that obvious until the Internet was opened up to the whole of humanity. Until AOL did that, you still had some hope that the morons you were encountering were exceptions.

  • ThugWife_76 Thug Wife (@ThugWife_76) reported

@Lauren_Southern It’s too bad no one has dig up the prosecutions AOL screen name from the 90s, pretty sure that’s a good one

  • pburkeTR pburke17.eth (@pburkeTR) reported

@PeterMcCormack I think of this as the AOL modem busy signal of 96. This will get sorted over the next year or so.

  • Highmoon Daniel 🇵🇷 (@Highmoon) reported

@Sunglar I had access to the internet in 96 via the community college library, so it was a couple hours here and there, never on weekends. I think that by November my gf had AOL at home.

@somafm @6bq9music @torrenssen Yahoo/AOL/Hotmail… 🧐 do *real* people actually still use these? 🤯 Because of 100 % SPAM from there I've completely blocked them at my email server and never got any complaints from my users – just much less junk traffic. 🤓
