  • RichardH1818 Richard Hanson ✡ (@RichardH1818) reported from Merrifield, Virginia

Email server Recommendations anyone? AOL has been the host for mine--but now they've made it hard to use. They now put different, and very distracting, balloons at the beginning for each message. I don't want a message service that makes it harder.

  • MissInformation Heather Perram Frank BA (@MissInformation) reported from Washington, D.C., District of Columbia

@annasproul I was one of a handful of producers in the Dulles, VA AOL newsroom on 9/11. The campus was evacuated after a plane that departed from the adjacent airport slammed into the Pentagon. I’ll never forgot having to sit on my hands because they were shaking so much I couldn’t type.

  • ShirleyImMilk G. Double D. (@ShirleyImMilk) reported from Arlington, Virginia

Were talking about “What cultural item are you older than” at work. We’re slow. So far, I’m older than MTv, AOL and VHS cassettes. This is a fun game to make me feel like I AM ACTUALLY THE OLDEST IN THE STORE. I don’t like this game... I’m taking my slap wraps and going home.

  • KarenCarolina84 Karen J (@KarenCarolina84) reported from Coral Hills, Maryland

    @aol email is still down

Why is my @aol email not working? 😢

  • Jimbo3DC Jimbo (@Jimbo3DC) reported from Washington, D.C., District of Columbia

@woolfhound That was precisely my experience with NYT, and it reminded me if when I had similar experiences trying to cancel my AOL or Bally's membership. Tacky and desperate.

  • HeySheckie Sheck'quon 🤷🏻‍♂️ (@HeySheckie) reported from Bethesda, Maryland

@ESPN your iPad app is literally one of the worst playback devices I have ever used. It’s like watching video on a 1994 AOL dial up. app.

  • JaydeColer Jayde Willow Coler🏳️‍⚧️ (@JaydeColer) reported from Arlington, Virginia

He IS a security risk but I’d say he’s more like Netscape (old as shit and useless) or the old AOL software (kept around far longer than should have been because people liked the one catchphrase it had)

  • StepToTheMic Kodi Seaton (@StepToTheMic) reported from Washington, D.C., District of Columbia

Some of you have never spent a summer messaging a complete stranger on dial-up AOL Instant Messenger and it shows. 😫 #LoveIsBlindNetflix #loveisblind

  • RAVENSBlood5220 💜🖤Blood Girl🦇Raven💜🖤 (@RAVENSBlood5220) reported from East Riverdale, Maryland

The Invasion angle should've been the most epic moment in Wrestling. Without all the major stars from WCW, it never lived up to those expectations. Very disappointing. There also was no Twitter to explain those AOL contracts for those stars too. #RuthlessAggression

  • Athens1896 George Economides (@Athens1896) reported from Riverdale Park, Maryland

@AOL Aol should get their stories straight. Tried to lower my costs and agreed to $5 plan, but still being billed $18.95. Can't get right person to correct problem. HELP. Long time user of AOL. HELP!!! Thanks in advance.

  • hebrwn Hampton Brown (@hebrwn) reported from Fulton, Maryland

@pewjournalism @pewresearch New Verizon CEO from Erickson, Hans Vestberg, is an enterprise guy who naturally fits in with the 5G, Wired, network and cable component of the Company. Tim Armstrong, AOL, advocated Content by securing Yahoo, etc. was culturally never assimilated into #VZ

If my phone autocorrects "keyboard" to "keyword" one more ******* time I'm gonna steam roll it and take a **** on the remains. I know my phone is old but I didn't know it was still in the AOL mindset with the goddamn keywords.

  • TheMantyf A Scaly Goblin Merchant (@TheMantyf) reported

"Is this the crown of Aol?" "Yes." "I never understood how the king ended up in #exile." "The people realized he liked more being the one giving them freedom than them actually being free, and he realized they didn't appreciate their rights being treated as a concession." #vss365

  • aleece_allred baby darko (@aleece_allred) reported

I deactivated my Instagram when I got a new, white iphone, new number & thus, quite obviously a new life only to find myself re-immersed in Twitter & using a ******* anonymous Instagram account tied to an AOL email address so I can post and troll all ******** I want... oops

  • dorsiayuppie Patrick Bateman (@dorsiayuppie) reported

@LASurfreport @GraniteGods @ripdicktrickle While on an AOL dial up internet service.

  • DavidMacLuna David MacLuna (@DavidMacLuna) reported

I've been seeing a lot of "I'm old enough that..." here lately. Well, *I'm* old enough that I remember using dial-up AOL - and I was a Livejournal early adopter. We invented broadband cuz dinosaurs kept knocking the POTS lines down.

  • neandervariatus K - dystopia observer (@neandervariatus) reported

@chesterBirdbath @kolsaw The old model of cable and network news is going to go the way of AOL and Blockbuster video... People are turning to sources they trust... or sources that will at least cover everything from their point of view...

  • smolswordrider 🦋 harold, they're shapeshifters 🦋 (@smolswordrider) reported

@hornyswordgrip viki, is the best, if you don't mind ads. And also youtube iirc? I have a huge chip on my shoulder bc the netlix subtitle for aol are basically just run through google translate; it's really bad lol. hang on, lemme find u some links

  • MrGoldstein7 Goldstein (@MrGoldstein7) reported

Reza II was not operating his own intelligence network out of his home in Virginia with “sophisticated electronics.” Were his informants emailing him secret messages from their dial-up AOL? And if any of this were true, he certainly wouldn’t let the LA Times publicize it.
