@marczak_rob @rosemcgowan I'm still sometimes receiving stupid, fake, unwanted, hacking aol emails. I'll also always only totally dispose them as they deserve so. To myself and all others here, never be intimidated like doing what's right in life doesn't still always matter. It does.

@YesWeCa37213657 @washingtonpost Yes, which is what was repeated ad nauseam to my generation about AOL and facebook. But weirdly enough, it seems to be Gen X and Boomers getting themselves in trouble over all their old tweets. Would you rather them figure that out for themselves as teenagers?

@Em_The_PM @MicrosoftTeams Teams reminds me of early attempts by AOL to wrap the internet into one box. It didn't work back then and it doesn't work here. The various components all work well enough (apart from the diabolical whiteboard app) but the Teams interface has a gaffer tape and string feel to it.

By the mid 90s, cable TV was the standard here. Almost anyone had a connection. Some families shared the same outlet to reduce the budget, but it was kind of allowed by the cable service. Then AOL appeared, then several other companies started offering something called INTERNET.

@rachelish Back in the mid 90’s I had an obviously stupid webpage titled “Let’s all kill the BeeGees!” Full of stupid nonsense & bad animated gifs, it was found by an AOL Bee Gees fan club. Both me & my ISP were drowned in email about how much of a monster I was.

@aethericAnuran I mean... I am over 30. I remember the chaotic wilds of the BBS boards and AOL chatrooms... ******* Thunderdome compared to how the internet is now tbh. But kids using their age as a shield after saying dumb **** on a platform rated "Mature" annoys ******** out of me

@BillDA Screen out any that have yahoo, msn, Comcast, aol or hotmail email addresses. In the last 5 years, I’ve broken this rule and been bit every time.
