There's approximately zero people online tonight and it's the worst! Bring back AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ! If chokers and stripey croptops can be back, so can they

My @sprint mobile service makes me nostalgic for @AOL, when I'd excitedly wait 5 minutes for content to load. It's cheaper than @att, but a 9600 baud modem is cheap too. As a biz customer, I tried to get a 'Magic Box' but apparently you've got to be magic to get 1. #backorder

@BillyBambrough @DavidJN79 @Forbes Many of us view Libra as a mezzanine/bridge solution to meet people where they are in their journey's toward stateless electronically-native hard money (Bitcoin). Just like AOL, the LaserDisk & Netlifx's envelopes. This thing is too big to swallow in one sitting, so... Libra.

despite being 20, our family was hella poor and didn't have internet til about 2005. and even then, we had AOL. so it was Neopets (2006-9), Spore (2008-10), and classic videogame emulators (2006-now) my first social media was Tumblr, which i discovered in the summer of 2014.

  • mrchaddavis Chad (@mrchaddavis) reported

@MishGEA Any company can create their own internet. TCP/IP and HTML are easy to copy. The Internet didn't even have first mover advantage and it crushed private walled services like Prodigy, AOL, and CompuServe. Network Affect is the piece you are missing in your valuation

  • AzumiLP Azumi (@AzumiLP) reported

@McSuto @XavierWoodsPhD @thechrisdenker AIM = AOL Instant Messenger, it was and old and crap messaging service on the PC much like MSN messenger where you could add friends and chat to them, though MSN messenger was much better.
