@jakeriley Does it count that one had to buy AOL to get online service? FYI: There was no Amazon before 1990 & the world was a better place

@AtlanticOshMan @susanbordson @davenewworld_2 The rest of them I'm unsure about. It never had a formal name and no one met in person aside from 'astral projecting.' the defacto leader was 18 when it started. Initial meetings happened in Phantasy Star Online and follow up was over AOL Instant Messenger.

@crsofr I remember thinking keywords were dumb. Just type in the URL, heh. I also 'hacked' free internet from bluelight. It was KMart's version of aol, but you needed to have an ad server on your screen at all times or it would shut down.

@RiseFallNickBck If that tweet was deleted, it's pretty obvious that the merger did a lot of damage. Thing is, Time Warner is no victim to mergers and I say this as fact that every merger involving them always ends in disaster, one way or another. Remember AOL Time Warner?

@tcnwakile @quenblackwell My man can never know what I'm doing for attention on these social media apps because he still uses AOL.
