@elonmusk This will go down in history as the biggest acquisition failure since AOL & Time Warner. $44bn pissed up against the wall. All because Elon had his feelings hurt. ******* ridiculous.

When you get to a certain age, the spam from AARP is as thick and pointless as all those AOL CDs in the 90s. Stop wasting your money people, I am never signing up. Seems like a Ponzi scheme, spending the money from the prior to sign up new.

I used to hang out in prodigy chat rooms and remember transitions to AOL ones. I never expected to be on Twitter forever. I’ll miss some of you guys but I will also enjoy watching Elon steer this into the ground while losing a ton of money.

@YoSteveees @annevclark No one needs to write *anything* here, silly. She brought up AOL You brought up Yahoo to put down AOL (didn’t need to, but here we are) I mentioned Compuserve You didn’t know the reference, but replied nonsensically anyway (didn’t need to, but…) See how that works both ways?

AOL IM. ICQ. Friendster. MySpace. Google+. Yahoo. Compuserve. Prodigy. Don't worry, Twitter too will fade to irrelevance under the weight of poor business decisions and corporate buyouts. I'm an old nerd, trust me: nothing lasts. Stay or go, it doesn't matter.

@BarkingCarnival @sean_legg @DCTrojan Define fail. All internet platforms have failed, ultimately. Every single one. Users age, new adoptions drop off, eventually you have USENET, or AOL, or LiveJournal, or MySpace, or Facebook.

@MattZeitlin 1000%. This will go down with AOL/Time Warner, AT&T/ DirecTV and AT&T/Warner Bros as one of the stupidest deals in history.
