@aolmail any update on the IMAP outage? Unable to connect for a couple of weeks. Is there a POP3 alternative at least?

  • dvogelstein dvogelstein (@dvogelstein) reported

@aolmail IMAP is not working. It just keeps popping up asking me for my password. I’m able to sign into the website.

@ajobst Everyone thinks sellers are so stupid with their aol email addresses, selling with all this "meat" on the bone, etc. Meanwhile, the same seller bought the building in 1976 for $8,000 at a 20% cap, never did repairs, and is selling the value-add for $4.5m at a 3% cap.

@AOLSupportHelp For some reason my android phone has stopped receiving emails. I can see them on my ipad so I don't think there's a problem with my account. Any idea how to rectify this? Thank you.

@ImSpeaking13 Yes. Since the AOL days. Sadly, it's never women...

@hiphippie @hacks4pancakes In the 1990s, I learned that my computer had a web browser external to AOL and therefore outside history (i had no parental controls on my account; all I was looking at was American Sailor Moon **** LOL). I also learned to clear history in the external browser.

@jsolomonReports I know folks want to blame someobdy, but back in the 1980s (before AOL or the Web) we had a saying: Don't say anything in email that you wouldn't want to see on the front page of the New York Times. Where did people get the idea that there's privacy online? Have we gotten stupid?

  • PastorBowman Keith Bowman (@PastorBowman) reported

@PastorBenMeyer I never actually installed AOL. I'd reformat it and use the disk for my class work.

@MargTowski Wow. Is your AOL dial-up so slow you are THAT far behind the memes*? * A meme (/miːm/ MEEM) is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads by means of imitation from person to person within a culture
