@yokalli2 TOR is cool but I've had zero luck with it these past few years. How hard would it be to write a program that has a built in DNS like system for resolving sites on a totally private network? No google. Like a freedom AOL.

@_TheShiv_ I know for me it comes from the AOL/AIM days where (at least in my experiences) if you were online and available, you were being rude by not replying. That has 100% changed with the rise of async communication, but I still apologise for prolonged reply times

@tropology @1_stlight @EloiseFaichney QLink (Commodore 64), AppleLink Personal Edition (Apple ][, then Mac; called "Personal Edition" because A-Link was their service network), then PCLink. All from Quantum Communications, and eventually all merged to be AOL. I was a "founding member" when it was still $6/hour.

Never thought I'd hear myself saying this but +w1++er was better when Jack was running it. The new controllers are doing to the bird app what AOL did to the once phenomenal Huffington Post message boards. In short ... ruin it.
