    @dennismiloseski @hthieblot Very familiar to me. I worked for AOL from February '97 to December 2006 when the call center I was working in shut down. I started in Tech support and learned a great deal about all things computer related, both in dealing with hardware and software. Technology has changed immensely over the past 30 years.

    Yep. Got in BIG trouble as a teen because we didn’t have internet at home so I grabbed a free AOL disc from Kmart then snuck a line from the phone block through ceiling into my bedroom and accidentally picked a non local access number and let it run at nights racking up huge bill

    Stay open to where demand leads. Your best market may not be your first. - Microsoft started with programming tools, then it came out with an operating system - AOL started for as a video game network, it became the homepage of internet - Oracle started with contracts for the CIA, now it's the backbone of enterprise data

    Tearing down Astroworld was a stupid move, and a terrible waste. I guess the New York execs were trying to do something 'smart', after AOL played them for being dumber than a rock… 😢

    @EdmundAvalon @SorchaEastwood AOL didn't launch in the UK until 1995, Freeserve not until 1998. Even then it was expensive, speeds were snails pace and adoption was slow. I'd say very few people were "online" in 1994.

    @thecowlitzkid I saw a lady on the nextdoor app yesterday ask if anyone else AOL was down, if that helps
