Paul Walsh (@Paul__Walsh) reportedThere’s a white paper to be written on this. I was a beneficiary of IDA Ireland when I started at AOL in a portacabin with 20 people in Tallaght, before AOL became the second company after Oracle to open an office in East Point. So I’m thankful because it gave me a solid foundation for my career. Ireland’s reliance on US tech companies is now a massive problem. They now have significant leverage with government. AI data centres is probably their endgame.

CEOInterviews.AI (@CEOinterview) reportedAn early Polygon investor ran the comparison against his own position. Yat Siu @ysiu puts the value split at 90 to 95 percent to the application that owns the customer, with gas fees going to the chain underneath. Polymarket's private valuation is 8 billion dollars. Polygon, the chain Polymarket is built on, is a lot smaller. His analogy is the mid 90s, when AOL bought Time Warner and the ISPs were the giants of the moment. AT&T is worth a lot of money today. It is smaller than Google, Apple and Nvidia. Critical infrastructure keeps getting built. It stops being the biggest company in the room.

Ragh Pandragon (@RaghPandragon) reportedThe truth is stranger. Long ago in the 90's there was still magic in the world every time you wanted to get on the internet you had to electrocute one fairy. Just one. Unfortunately disconnects were an issue. Slowly, one connection at a time, we fed all of the magic creatures into the gaping maw of oblivion to power our ICQ chats and AOL instant messengers. At least until Human Energy Update 3.9 Service Pack 2. Now every time you log in you just lose a little bit of your own soul, no fairy deaths required.

It’s bizarre how y’all keep coming up with the weirdest Netflix streaming show ideas. 1. The Legislature has not tried to enact recreational ********* 2. Byron Donalds does not want to enact recreational ********* 3. Full f*cking stop because why do you need me to LITERALLY tell you something you can ask Google, ChatGPT, Grok, any search engine?!?!?!?!?!? What year do you live in? Are you still using AOL dial up service? Geez

The Psycho Analyst (@TheRealBirnbaum) reportedThe horde is following each other off a cliff believing Madam Media’s hysterics over open source. I believe either Anthropic, OpenAI, or a newer competitor—or all three—will be ten times bigger than they are today within the next text years. The media is giving emotional reasons for the impending doom of frontier models. They’re spending more than they make isn’t evidence when every revolutionary tech giant did the same. That they’re doing it at unprecedented scale is a stronger version of the same point. Anthropic has penetrated about 1% of the enterprise market. Use cases are in their infancy. LLMs are the AOL of the AI age. We haven’t even gotten robotics and healthcare and everything else. The hyperscalers are only starting to show the analysts how slavishly emotional they are. The economists pointing to history books have never been right. They were the same group claiming we’d hit a new all time high plateau in 1999. History never repeats and rhymes only when you tilt your head and squint. In reality, reality is a complex adaptive system that requires constant analysis and logical assessment. There are no shortcuts, and you should never trust the hacks who use them. $AMZN $GOOGL
