@benjedwards Never used AOL IM but I went on using MSN or whatever it was called until the service became unavailable to Pigdin users such as myself. Must’ve been in the 2009-2011 timeframe, roughly.

  • HelloMrKearns Sean-Paul (@HelloMrKearns) reported

@benjedwards Never used AOL Instant Messenger. I grew up in Canada where MSN seemed to be the IM of choice. Oddly enough, I stopped using that as much when it merged with Skype.

  • a_omicron RefuseniKing (@a_omicron) reported

@saylor Satoshi (likely CIA) opened the portal perhaps, like AOL did for the internet. The time is coming now for bitcoin like when AOL give out endless CDs with free internet minutes on to stay relevant while the upcoming competitors had vastly more efficient systems. Ended bad for AOL

  • OrrinEdenfield Orrin Edenfield, an 🇺🇸 living in 🇬🇧 (@OrrinEdenfield) reported from Eltham, England

@benjedwards school library had a dial-up modem (probably 9600 baud) to ISP through school district. At home was local ISP as AOL/Compuserve/etc. never had local numbers for me.

  • TSHamiltonAstro Tim Hamilton (@TSHamiltonAstro) reported

@benjedwards I never had AOL, so I can't answer your actual question. But...I do kind of miss chatting by the UNIX "talk" program. ;)

@MindoftheMeanie @BlueMeanieBWO @ThisisGoober #AskMeanie 2) When you did the fan Q&A panels at Cyberslam events did the wrestlers have any instructions on what to say/not say, or was it just free-flowing w/ the fans? 3) How did the company's website & AOL chats help the wrestlers in terms of other $$ opportunities? Thanks!
