    @meowmeow_druid I am but also have trouble saying I'm pan, but I am. There was just nowhere to go or talk to in the 90s/00s. All the meetups were at bars. Chat rooms and forums in the AOL days - understandably - focused on the AIDS crisis. So I just shoved it down. I'm still scared.

    @ArielleDundas Phones/technology (think AOL) make it so kids don’t have to physically go to their friends’ houses anymore to communicate that they want to hang out. It’s just a text away, or XBox chat, or Switch invite… I think that it’s different but it shouldn’t be ignored

    Beyond that, while we were essential to the company's success, providing technical support isn't cheap, so we weren't exactly beloved, and felt as though we were second-class citizens within the company. Every year, AOL conducted employee satisfaction surveys.

    @baddestmamajama In the early 2000's, a little before phones, I remember when so many teens would now all hang out on instant messenger, usually AOL. I thought it was particularly strange since some could look out their windows and see someone they were chatting with next door.

    @rex_woodbury @jean_twenge It's clearly already declining by the late 1990s. Was AOL chat already doing damage?

  • pencilord Jose IV Fournier (@pencilord) reported

    @pawsvtuber I have 2 points. Never had MySpace or an AOL account.

  • Kaywithin915 Kay With (@Kaywithin915) reported

    @aolmail What have you done!!! I’m unable to log into my Verizon email using my Apple iOS Mail apps & your help desk says, “Because of a security issue, AOL has disabled 3rd party apps from logging in, & we don’t when it will be fixed. Sorry.”

  • MikeDav91341008 Mike Davis (@MikeDav91341008) reported

    @AdamoGrant23 I am guessing 3 never had a My Space Account or used a floppy disc not sure if I had an AOL account

    @sd__ryan First of all, Swooze made me grin. I never considered saying it that way, but I might now! (I’m sw70 on aol, but that was taken on Twitter, so I just mirror-imaged it).

  • wordsanddoodle Daffy (@wordsanddoodle) reported

    @cp_tis I never had AOL
