Is anyone else out there going grey hairs waiting for an answer from @AOLSupportHelp ? Ok, they can't offer phone support, but 5 days without access to emails and no response to pleas for help is frankly a bit crap.

@azeem It was the dawn of the perpetual September. AOL were distributing discs to the public with abandon. The web was a concept in feasibility testing, and Internet life would never be the same again...

  • _JoeMills_ Joe Mills 🇺🇸 (@_JoeMills_) reported

@azeem @theycallmebreno That was an AOL thing. They dumbed the internet down for the masses.

  • skylarchriss 🐥 (@skylarchriss) reported

@Hector_E_Alcala I'm 23 and my grandpa still had dial up until I was probably almost in middle school so yes I remember. Used to watch the AOL man slowly move as stuff loaded. Good ****.

  • Eamontron Eams (@Eamontron) reported

@davidschneider She offshored tons of UK Talktalk jobs to India, Malaysia and South Africa. And shut down AOL in Ireland after they trained the UK staff to "help out". Swings and roundabouts I guess.

  • hiswifedaisy Daisy 🌼 (@hiswifedaisy) reported

Thinking about the time I said "****" in an AOL chatroom and got my account temporarily banned. Some things never change.

  • SuperNerdLand SuperNerdLand is a Cute Snake (@SuperNerdLand) reported

You know someone is a boomer when they send pictures to support with an iPhone but via AOL Mail lol

  • PatrickPgriffin Patrick Griffin 🇺🇸🇰🇷🇮🇪 (@PatrickPgriffin) reported

@azeem Dialup but was so long ago do not remember what service but might have been AOL.

Fun facts about dial up internet: 1. 3% of Americans still use dial up, provided by AOL. 2. It's so slow that it can't download modern viruses. So you can throw out your antiviral software. But you won't be able to do much else either. 3. It's cheap, like $10 a month.

Eric doesnt seem to be the type to call you petnames like 'baby' and ****. If anything, calling you by the shortened version of your AOL handle seems the most affectionate to him
