@michaelaranda I miss the days where we had to hunt each other down. Who had Xanga, LiveJournal, Tumblr? Were you on AOL, MSN chat, ICQ? Not everything centralized into one or two services like today. Internet portals taken to the extreme.

@RepHagan You miss the whole point of her presence: to speak truth to power in the belly of the beast. And she did that, boosting TAX THE RICH (which is POPULAR but forbidden to speak about). AOL knew exactly what she was doing, no surprise you missed it. So don’t feel bad.

@ggreenwald Our social structures are not designed for a “block” functionality. My computer teacher told us this in 1999 about AOL instant messenger. To be able to press a button and wordlessly shun someone is a concept thousands of years of human interaction could never have predicted.

@Aol's new ad-free mail subscription, for whatever reason, was rolled out in 2021 after decades of the service launching. Why now? Why do I need to suddenly pay for mail without ads that cannot be blocked by an adblocker??! How is that possible!? This is horrible!
