@CrazyRxMan Was there a time when PBMs were useful? I guess maybe when AOL had burst on the scene and internets were in their infancy? I guess I'm asking were they always a cash grab or did they solve a problem (that they also didn't create)? Asking for historical perspective

@jaydeem Yes indeed. Poor marketing and financial choices by AOL and Swimming Australia. Feel sorry for the kid though.

@USMCNoggin @ravenscimaven I don’t remember my dad using Prodigy, but I do remember when that was a service! I think our first Internet service was AOL (yep, during the free trial CD-ROM days).

  • NeauxWai NeauxWai: Still Candlenights Edition (@NeauxWai) reported

@ravenscimaven AOL - America Online - was a major internet service provider when home internet first became a thing. The CDs with AOL on them were timed trials of their internet service, but they gave them out everywhere so when you ran out of time on one CD you could just use a new one.

@mariahgladstone @VerizonSupport Mariah, when defining your virtual desktop/Workstation through the AOL disc, click the down triangle 50-55 times till it reads "unlimited" for your server/cloud storage limits. Remember most desktops then had factory 126kb storage. Yes that's KB. VIRTUAL is everywhere& nowhereitl

@MelitaWhite They used to send them to everyone for a free trial of AOL internet service. Everyone tossed them. We all had dial-up through the phone company.

@thetomzone america online has an android app now? i must install it or else i will be stuck offline... i remember when america online was a separate network from the internet, and if you used a different internet service provider, there was aol-only content you couldn’t access... good times

@ravenscimaven That's how AOL advertised their service, they sent out tons of free internet hours on discs. I, personally had PeoplePC. Both of these services was dial-up.

@johnnyo317 @Rookie_425 @mchooyah I assume SS means Secret Service, but who is AOL and why are they a "wuss"?? How are you doing with pictures of where the fences were overrun? Am I to accept your word that plenty of officers were injured without documentation?
