@nnnn07142539 @Neloangelo314 Think back to the dot com era....all media outlets told you to sell Amazon, AOL, google etc said they were garbage. Big institutional investors stepped in and bought when retail exited. Wished you would have kept your Amazon and Google now?

  • ToolManFinn Mike hiding in Utah (@ToolManFinn) reported

@jamie2181 AOL chat rooms got me in trouble.

@radcastizo83 Looking back wasn’t the atheist phase cringe? Mine was. I’d argue with Christians in AOL chat rooms and try to freak them out by saying blasphemous things. **** I hate myself. Haha.

@beakfriends @rin_rin_rin_owo When I was in school not too long ago, the advice teachers gave on how to stay safe on the internet was the really outdated stuff like "don't talk to strangers in chatrooms!" or "never put your real name on the internet", stuff that made most sense in the AOL/Geocities era.

There's so much more I could add to this list as a child of the 90s/00s. I didn't have a mobile phone until I started secondary school and it was a motorola brick hand-me down on a network that doesn't exist anymore! I didn't have internet until I was 14 & it was AOL dial up!

@jhblake4 @SawyerMerritt The difference of Tesla vs. AOL or even Tesla vs. even Apple of 2010, is Tesla made all these advances in house which means even if if someone like Apple throws unlimited money at these problems they still cannot catch up without time / own engineering advances. Huge difference!
