It was 1998 and I was working the support desk at a local ISP. Around this time the ISP put out CDROMs that resembled the AOL CDs into everyone’s mailbox and signups were happening like crazy. Quotas and limits were then put in place and the most important quota was email 📧

@ChrisPirillo I used it for about a week. It was way too slow and felt clunky. Kinda like using AOL

@rachaelreally @ByRobinEpley Haha, it's a long story involving AOL, Lollapalooza and a stupid article that I wrote. I need to find a copy of said article but the story is included in the book I'm writing.

  • jordansissel @jordansissel (@jordansissel) reported

@theckman Hacked AOL clients were so fun. I never made one, but used AOBomber (was that the name?) which greatly enhanced the features in the standard aol client.

  • jtsuno Rain King (@jtsuno) reported

@JenniferEckhart @AEW @IAmJericho Dude I have one other account but all my critical stuff is on aol. I'll never change them!

  • CsmeJbarnes Justin Barnes (@CsmeJbarnes) reported

I said this on a tik tok randomly the other day and frankly, I can't stop thinking about it. "The sound of AOL turning on was the sound of innocence turning off and we didn't even know it." Take time away from social media and the internet. This **** is incredibly unhealthy.

@CarolOfNJ @SMcDonough4 @PoisonedApple84 Hindsight being what it is, I know I was just a greenhorn who had no idea what he was doing. But, life has way of surprising you with things you would never expect. I met a girl from California online on AOL 3.0 lol.
