    @LiteralGrill theres def corners that feel like that. but knowing i can post "**** terfs" and no one can make it be taken down no matter how hard they try is pretty nice. it just seems a lot like the AOL chatrooms where like, you need to ask your friends where the good ones are

    @NytReview My only real complaint about today’s puzzle (6D) is that AOL was not a NYC company. (Maybe kinda sorta, for about about 5 minutes, after it disastrously merged with Time Warner). AOL was a DC/Virginia suburbs company.

    @subonekd @BevinsJoey @AOL Damn, I am getting old lol

  • Demakat Stevie (@Demakat) reported

    All this doom feels more like when aol fell out of favor than when livejournal fell out. Simply for the sheer scale of users and how it's used. Only this time we're the middle aged people scared about our internet house falling down.

  • tigger_porn tigger porn (@tigger_porn) reported

    I can't remember the last time I used AOL AIM. Never on a smartphone I don't think. S/N stood for screen name. It was essentially like FB messenger. I had hundreds of contacts on multiple lists. Then everyone just stopped one day.
