  Somehow, Musk's now-"on hold" attempt to acquire Twitter reminds me of Time Warner's ultimately disappointing acquisition of AOL a quarter-century ago. Trying to remind myself of who Time was, who Warner was, and who AOL was, though all 3 brands still exist. People gave a crap?

  @Scobleizer Using Westwood and AOL Chat as a kid was super impactful. In making my avatar in Palace Chat, I got to anonymously express myself. Be whatever I wanted. Second Life was HUGE. I don't know why the VR version of that wouldn't be big. "Solving problems" is the wrong framing.

  @nevslin @IAmJenMcG Discovery beginning its Warner Bros. purge after the acquisition, I assume. I was there during the AOL purge… it’s never easy.

  @elonmusk I live in central Florida and have been patiently waiting for service. Our only current internet provider is satellite and just a step above AOL , lol. During lockdown having such poor internet really made teaching difficult.

  @AOLSupportHelp is AOL Mail having issues in the UK right now? My phone and lap top tells me my Password is Invalid. Is it not.

  @BurrdDoh My sister used to spend hours on dial up internet. We figured out how to knock her off repeatedly, by picking up landlines and hitting the hang up buttons repeatedly. Then would laugh hysterically (quietly) when she gave up attempts at chatrooms in AOL
