Nasty customer email arrives as soon as I get home. USPS loses their package. Yet it's my fault. Yes. I'm also responsible for the zits on your ***. The lack of money in your bank account. The poor chemistry you have with the friends in the AOL chat room you dwell in.

I’ve been thinking an awful lot about the history of CompuServe, the online service that started as a way to sell spare computer time on the PDP-10 of an insurance company in Columbus, Ohio. They rented it out to businesses and then to individuals, with various AOL-type stuff.
