@jrhuddles @verge Every time a boomer asks if I want my online history held against me, they are likely talking about stupid things I probably said, but I think back to my Geocities FF7 fansite (lots of copyright infringement, I'm sure) and being accused of god-moding in an AOL Marvel Sim chat.

  • Cr8DigitalAsset Christina Haftman (@Cr8DigitalAsset) reported from Fair Oaks, Virginia

@robertoblake I went to college pre internet. We had large computers with floppy disks, DOS command prompt, loud, vibrating dot matrix printers and slow screechy modems. This was before Windows and IE. Before email. Before AOL. Before NETZERO. Before Yahoo Messenger.

@Kenny_Wallace @jim_utter There was standalone bulletin board systems back in the early 90s that you dialed into with a very slow modem. Also people forget about AOL and Compuserve back then. I believe AOL sponsored race cars at one point. All had social media aspects to them.

@discord Your product is terrible. Constant lock outs, a three week waiting period to get a customer service response that did nothing to help. An absolute cluster **** of a company. I would rather us AOL messenger.

  • JamesSager www.goodnewsjim.com Jesus loves you. (@JamesSager) reported

God knows you have money and talent to fix it easily, so why has it taken you decades to catch up with retroactively securing your OS to the Internet. Yes, your OS was designed before the Internet, but you could have easily done this in 1994 & AOL eras.

  • brownsfansnce79 brownsfansince79 (@brownsfansnce79) reported

@jon_bois I tried but I got an SQL error? It said "DNS 42.42 administrator problem. Please contact your ISP for guidance." I called AOL but they said it's probably a mainframe problem with my ethernet modem. Please advise.
