@katekilla Wow, we better sit down and exchange AOL stories someday--I've got some classics, having worked at AOL/Netscape, Propeller, AOL News, and probably some short-lived thing I forgot about it.

@SaraBerniecrat @JackPosobiec I was heavily online in the 90s. There were 'social' sites far before AOL or Facebook. The Terms of Service were upheld strictly in both public messages and anything you said in 'private' messages. If anything today's TOS is more lenient.

@HistorielM Wouldn't know what Facebook messenger. I can guess it was like a fancy AOL messenger. When Facebook got big I never joined because I was an outcast in school so I wouldnt have anyone to friend on it. Though to be fair I did deserve being outcast I was a massive weeb.

@ItsBMcKnight is there any chance that you still have access to, and can post your videos from AOL Sessions back in the day? I believe you did two different sessions and they were phenomenal. Youtube is no help. I'd pay for them in HQ.

I lost money on my AOL investment when Steve Case proved to be an idiot running a company. When Verizon bought it, I assume it was only a matter of time before they would dump it at far less than they paid. Maybe Verizon should buy MySpace or Circuit City......

@fulghamstan (I used text-only internet on a 286 DOS computer until I was 18 or so, but we had a mac that could run AOL on a 2400 modem from 1995-1999, yes I was poor, but I got to use AOL in its most basic form!)
