@MattWalshBlog It was slow and tedious in the beginning. Encountered the web the same way. AOL at an associate's house. Really started using it in the fall of 1998.

  • Ev_deGallery Lady Evelyn, BME (@Ev_deGallery) reported

@MattWalshBlog Holy crap I feel old now. I thought we were close to the same age. The first time I saw AOL, I was 17. I clicked on it on my brother's computer and immediately freaked out because it said it was talking to someone. I shut it down fast. "WHO?? HOW MUCH WILL THAT COST??"

  • jwymanm ree (@jwymanm) reported

@BobQuarantine @MattWalshBlog I was hipper than you guys. I never had a centralized network provider. No Compuserve, no AOL, just raw internet from a dial up provider. First exposure, and I didn't know I was doing it, was a dialup to my sister's college to run lynx. Didn't know I was even on the net lol

@brianne2k Ice Breaker 2: AOL was not internet. It eventually offered internet access but it was its own internal network. #PopChat

@sweetdeesez @acony_belle Hahaha not quite that bad. My mom never got the 69 or 420 memes. Hell, my mother just learned how to use her iPad let alone aol

Here’s an idea. Bitcoin dominance has been in a macro downtrend since inception. The trend is down. People don’t use AOL or Myspace, or flip phones anymore as much as they did. Technology is always moving forward. I see bitcoin this same way to be honest.

@brianne2k ICE BREAKER: Making my first AOL screen name! I think it was gelpen318 or something terrible because I was obsessed with gel pens. #PopChat

@AOL How are any customers meant to solve a problem they have if they can't call you??
