My 1st experience with automatic renewal was AOL. My aunt warned me, "They are so hard to quit." I joined anyway. When I wanted to quit, a handwritten letter was required before they stopped charging me! Now i never patronize any company that #AutoRenews.

While I feel really terrible for the female twitch community, I just want to point out that fakes have been around since the aol days. A-list celebrities have battled this for YEARS, it’s going to take a ton of money and a ton awareness to have it go away.

@PinkoScare IT workers could diagnose connection problems by listening to the handshake tone, but I'm not sure why the average AOL user had to hear it

  • ahteeter Aaron H Teeter (@ahteeter) reported

@Iron_Man_Actual The State version, "Teams Talk," will undoubtedly just be AOL messenger with a camera icon that doesn't work. I do want to know if this new version of teams will respond for me so I don't have to attend a meeting that should have been an email? I'd pay $7 for that.

@PolitiReality I was mid 30s in that era of AOL dominance and was slinging a portfolio if longs and shorts then. At no time did anyone ever think that AOL was dominant. Prodigy was pretty damn good. And at no time was AOL 5 years advanced from its competition. Tesla is at least that.

@TheUselessGod I remember thinking it was awful and then going on AOL and seeing lots of people praising it for Being Faithful to The Games and my brain dying

@AOL Your spam filter just does nt seem to work, last 2 months mail box inundated w/ spam, blocked senders, deleted stuff.. did everything yet a mail box that hd wonderful filters nd the least amt of spam over last 2+ decades nw seems broken! #AOL

@PolitiReality Hubris is never a good look. The corporate landscape is littered with the remains of titans that once dominated their market segments. AOL, GM, Blackberry, IBM come quickly to mind. Competition is good for consumers but not always for stockholders.
